Creating a home theater can be a great do-it-yourself project. With some basic carpentry skills, electrical know-how and Owens Corning QuietZone® noise control products, you can create a home entertainment center in an existing room by following these basic steps:
- Remove existing drywall to expose wall studs and ceiling joists
- Gain access to floor joists (if applicable)
- While studs are exposed, add wiring for AV equipment and speakers as desired
- Install QuietZone® insulation batts to walls, ceiling and floor
- Install new drywall
- Install AV equipment
- Add furnishings and acoustical enhancements as desired (for best acoustics, avoid items with hard surfaces)
